Training follows the TESDA Training Regulations for Heavy-Equipment Operation (Hydraulic Excavator) NC II, Construction — Heavy Equipment sub-sector. Practical operation is conducted on Kanraul Builders Development Corporation's own registered fleet under qualified instructors. Graduates are prepared for national assessment toward the NC II certificate and for work as Hydraulic Excavator / Backhoe Operator. Start dates and schedules will be announced; reservations undergo initial assessment by the Registrar.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years old at the start of training (TESDA scholarship requirement)
  • Able to communicate orally and in writing
  • Physically and mentally fit (a medical certificate is required)
  • Of good moral character
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations
  • A valid Professional Driver's License is an advantage and may be required for national assessment — the Registrar will advise during screening

Documentary Requirements

  • PSA Birth Certificate (photocopy; bring the original for verification)
  • Proof of educational attainment: Form 137/138, High School or SHS diploma, or ALS certificate
  • Two (2) passport-size ID photos, white background, with name tag
  • Barangay Clearance or Certificate of Residency
  • Medical Certificate (fit for training) from a licensed physician
  • One (1) valid government-issued ID (photocopy)

The Registrar confirms the final checklist during assessment; additional documents may be requested for TESDA scholarship processing.

Course Outline & Syllabus

Structured per the official TESDA competency standards.

Module 1 — Basic Competencies

18 Hours
  1. Participate in workplace communication
  2. Work in a team environment
  3. Practice career professionalism
  4. Practice occupational health and safety procedures

Module 2 — Common Competencies (Construction)

18 Hours
  1. Prepare construction materials and tools
  2. Observe procedures, specifications and manuals of instruction
  3. Interpret technical drawings and plans
  4. Perform mensurations and calculations
  5. Maintain tools and equipment

Module 3 — Core Competencies

120 Hours
  1. Perform pre- and post-operation procedures for the hydraulic excavator (backhoe)

    Visual equipment checks, component and parts identification, safety rules and regulations, and "BLOWAF" (Battery, Lubricant, Oil, Water, Air, Fuel) inspection.

  2. Perform basic preventive maintenance servicing

    Scheduled servicing of earth-moving equipment per manufacturer's manual and site procedures.

  3. Perform productive operation of the hydraulic excavator

    Excavating earth materials in actual construction-site conditions on Kanraul Builders' own fleet, in accordance with industry standards.
